About Peter Arnold

A Life Devoted to the Craft

Peter Arnold completed his apprenticeship as a carpenter and timber framer in Switzerland in 1987. After arriving in Williams Lake in 1993, he spent 25 years helping build extraordinary structures with Pioneer Log Homes and became known to audiences through more than 50 episodes of HGTV’s Timber Kings. The cameras were never the point. The craft was—and still is.

  • 30+ years of craftsmanship: Decades spent shaping massive timbers into homes, cabins and one-of-a-kind structures.
  • Swiss-trained precision: A foundation in traditional carpentry, timber framing and disciplined joinery.
  • Built in Williams Lake: Every structure is handcrafted and preassembled in our British Columbia yard.
  • Delivered near and far: Projects have travelled across Canada, into the United States and overseas.
  • Direct collaboration: Clients work with Peter and the people who are actually shaping their home.

Handcrafted log homes

Pieces of Art, Built for Real Life

A handcrafted log home is more than a structure. Each tree brings its own grain, taper and character. Each client brings a different piece of land, way of living and idea of home. Our work is to bring those elements together into something that belongs—to the site, to the family and to the life they want to build there.

We are not only here for the rich and famous. Whether you are planning a simple cabin, a family home or an expansive timber estate, the care and craftsmanship remain the same.

What We Build

  • Full-scribe log homes: Traditional solid-log construction with each wall log individually shaped and fitted.
  • Timber frame and post-and-beam: Exposed structural timber paired with glass, stone and flexible interior finishes.
  • Cabins and smaller homes: Thoughtful, character-rich spaces created with the same care as our largest projects.
  • Log shell packages: Custom timber packages for clients working with architects, contractors and local building teams.
  • Specialty timber work: Garages, trusses, stairs, gates, entries and distinctive architectural accents.

Built Here. Rebuilt for You.

  • 1. Listen and plan: We begin with your land, vision, priorities and practical requirements.
  • 2. Select and craft: The team selects, peels, scribes and shapes the logs for your design.
  • 3. Assemble in Williams Lake: Your structure is fully fitted in our yard before delivery.
  • 4. Document and transport: Each component is marked, catalogued, disassembled and prepared for shipment.
  • 5. Re-erect on site: Peter and the team oversee the final assembly within the agreed project scope.
